In a time before the battles of the Last Alliance in the Second Age, there was a kingdom that existed within the White Mountains. Towards the end of the Second Age, the kingdom of Numenor sought allies in the war against Saurons forces. Isildur, son of the high king Elendil came to the people of the white mountains in search of their Allegiance. An oath sworn promise was made by the people of the White Mountains to aid in the coming wars. But when called upon to take up arms, they fled. For this, they were cursed to wander the hills until they fulfilled their pledge, and go to war for the kingdom of men.

At the end of the Third Age, much of Middle-earth is controlled by a handful of great Kingdoms. However, there are many other powers lurking within the forests and vales of Middle-earth, avoiding the wars and conflicts of other realms. Of these ancient lands, Fangorn is by far the oldest. Home to the Ents, the tree shepherds of the forests. The Ents have lived in Middle-earth since the dawn of the world and once walked among the trees of all the great forests. However, in the dwindling years of the Third Age, they are few in numbers and reside only within Fangorn.

Living in fractured communities, the tribesmen have long nurtured a hatred of the Rohirrim and, when rallied to a unified cause, this mindless rabble of dishevelled barbarians can turn into an army capable of threatening even Edoras itself.
This multipart plastic kit builds 24 Hill Tribesmen infantry, ideal for flooding the battlefield with overwhelming numbers. They can be taken in a variety of Evil armies, including the Army of the White Hand, Usurpers of Edoras, and Besiegers of the Hornburg, and they can also be used to represent the Wildmen of Dunland. As they're not part of a standing army, they're equipped with a mix of different types of weapons, some of them improvised. Eight of the models may carry spears or two-handed weapons, another eight can wield flaming brands or hand weapons, along with optional shields. The last eight can be armed with bows.

In times of war, the warriors of Rohan will take up arms to protect their homes and villages against any who would seek to invade their lands. When the armies of the hill tribes gather outside Edoras, these hardy warriors stand defiant, felling Hill Tribesmen with sword, axe, bow, and spear.This multipart plastic kit builds 24 Rohan Warrior infantry, ideal for defending positions while the nimble cavalry attacks. They can be taken by a variety of Good armies, including Kingdom of Rohan, Defenders of Helm's Deep, Army of Edoras, Defenders of the Hornburg, Men of the West, and Realms of Men. They can also be used to represent an Evil Rohirrim Traitor unit. Well equipped and trained, they retain individual character without a formal uniform.
